A brief bio
My Background
I have been playing the Flute and Piano for over 25 years both professionally and recreationally.
I have a vast and varied performance history including playing small ensemble music for dinner parties to entertain small groups of people, right up to playing in front of Royalty and the Queen herself.
I am DBS checked and an experienced mentor and teacher with over fifteen years practice in working with and tutoring young children and adults alike.
After 12 years of professional gigging I decided it was time to learn how to properly repair my instruments and not just on the go 'quick fixes' so I embarked on several courses to attain this knowledge.
Sharing my Passion
Music has long been my passion. I love everything from Baroque music to Rock music and more. Throughout my musical career I have met some very inspiring people that have helped me along the way, namely my tutors. I want to instil the passion and inspiration that they showed me to others and help the student have a truly enthralling time playing an instrument. That's why I became a teacher.
Whether you are just a beginner or an advanced student needing some guidance I am willing to take you through your musical journey, wherever it may lead you.
My Lessons
Lessons are offered on a one-to-one basis usually lasting from 30 minutes to an hour depending on your musical needs. I am happy to take complete beginners whether you want to learn for fun or maybe considering taking some musical grades later on? I am flexible in tailoring the lessons towards the students individual goals. I also teach musical theory along the way to support practical learning.
